Goldleaf looked up as Eston walked over to the fire and inclined her head. She stepped away from the piled logs and smiled at Morwen. "Well, I hope I helped to your satisfaction. I've never built a bonfire before."
She watched as Deawen's daughter rushed in over to Eston with a loud wail that almost penetrated her eardrums. Brushing her hands of splinters, she remained silent.

(Oooooo, my mouth hurts! I just had my wisdom teeth removed.)
"Yes, I think it will do just fine," Morwen replied, distractedly. Midira's appearance reminded her that she should probably find her sons. "If you would like to return to the festivities, I need to find where my own little troublemakers got off to. Thankyou for you help." She smiled and left, not quite sure where the little devils were hiding.

((Sorry, but I'm gonna have to drop out of this one. Just, say that I stay behind to hold the fort and keep the village under control and help with the region, 'k?))

Deawen stood infront of the bonfire with her husband Sen. It was only a heap of dry wood and kindling stuffed with a few purifying herbs.
THe couple stood both holding the same torch ready to light the fire.

"sceotan, sceotan baðian us bletsian in þu æled" Deawen said softly she nudged her husband playfully with her elbow giving him his signal to repeat what she had just said.
Once said both lowered the torch to the fire, moved clockwise around the fire setting the dry limbs aflame.
They dropped the torch into the fire and Deawen moved away from her husband and stood opposite him across the fire.
She took the first pose in the ritual dance. A low pulsing rythym of drums followed suit.

Morwen stood, boys rounded up and arranged around her by Cocea, and waited for the Deawen and Sen's fire to catch before dipping her own, unlit torch into the embers. It crackled to life, turning blue, then yellow, then white. The other nobles of the area did likewise, then returned to their respective fires around the Elsent hall. She let the fact that she was the only single woman at the fire pass and bent to light her own fire. It blazed up quickly. She pulled Eohfrith back from the flames and watched the circle of fires flame up.

*Sen smiled at his wife, as she gave him the gentle nudge. He knew a few languages of Middle Earth, yet he was still getting his tongue wrapped around this one... And so the fun begins...*
"sceotan, sceotan baðian us bletsian in þu æled"
*Sen repeated after his wife, and, the torch in both their hands, proceded around the fire, lighting the kindling as they went. His heartbeat increased, both with the excitement at the festival's beginning, and with love for his wife. Though this was most assuredly not the first Beltane they had celebrated together, he was filled with pride and joy every time he took part. As they moved away from eachother, Sen took a quick glance into her eyes. They had come a long way, a very long way, through many "dances"... As Deawen took the first pose of the dance, he followed suit, his boot kicking up a small puff of dust as the fire began to pick up in front of him...*

Goldleaf walked down a corridor of the house. Everyone else was celebrating beltane, standing round their fires; this gave her a chance to explore her surroundings a little. After all, she was a foreigner, and she had no idea what she'd do faced with the prospect of a festival completely foreign to her, different to everything she knew, her own customs and traditions. Probably make herself look foolish.
She flipped the Gondorian silver tree between her fingers absent-mindedly as she walked along. Maybe there was a tavern in the village where she could relax and have a pint of ale and a bit of food. Her blue skirts swished as she turned a corner towards a door which led out of the house.

Deawen danced around the fire to Sen she kept her gazed on him, her steps were light and playful as she neared him she looked down at the ground then dashed around him the drum beats and flute quickening thier pace. Just as she passed him her hand brushed his but she was gone before he could catch her. THe couple dance around the fire always one step ahead of the other forever to the chase. Deawen was laughing and Smiling, her rare smile that would stop a man in his tracks. SHe was only happy when she was around Sen.
She danced away from Sen keeping the fire between them. It was her favorite part of the dance, keeping Sen at bay only knowing that a low fire kept them apart.

After taking a pint of ale, Goldleaf walked out of the neat, pretty little Rohirric tavern in the village back towards the house. She could hear music coming from the hall, and could just about make out the flames of the bonfires flickering.
She walked through the doors of the house and down the corridor towards the hall, the music becoming louder. She made her way through the crowds, politely, taking care not to shove anyone, and saw, dancing round the bonfire, a couple that she recognised as the lord and lady of the hall.
Goldleaf could percieve that they felt a true, strong affection for one another. A small smile played on her lips, her expression remaining calm and placid. She felt a thud of loneliness, that nearly everyone else in the world had someone to share their life with, to be happy with.

Morwen ushered Eohrmen, Eohrllic, and Eohfrith into a circle around their family fire. They didn't know or understand the ritualistic dance, but enjoyed the blind expression of jumping around the fire with their mother. Morwen relished the break from public composure and let her emotions come out through her movements. Though she was still upset at Eohric's departure, she knew she would treasure this moment with her sons for the rest of her days.

(I'm back from my trip, but I've been busy with the school start, so haven't had time to write.)

Thalabor walked out of the halls and looked around for the stable where his brother was going.
A young couple passed him on the way and he asked the young man if he knew where his brother might be.
The Dunadan tried to explain with his clumsy Rohirric and hand gestures what his brother looked like.
After a short while the young man finally understood him, and pointed towards a stable where there where many people streaming towards the festive area.

As the mead started to fill the stomachs of the rohirric men and woman of the village neighborhood, Curubor was more and more involved in singing and clapping hands to the dancing around him.
After a while the neighbours started to gather around to get to the halls, while Curubor enjoyed the company of a few woodworker who he discussed techniques and wood with.

Thalabor walked into the area and found his brother seated in on a bench with some strong armed rohirrim.
"Curubor, it's time to get to the festive area, otherwise we shall miss the Lord and Lady and the others."
The older brother looked up towards his brothers direction and started to try and move of his seat.
After taking a step forward he soon found himself on the muddy ground after he had tripped on a board that was laying on the ground.
His new found friends helped him up while laughing loudly.
Curubor at first gave them a deadly look, but soon joined in the laughing at his own expense.

Thalabor led his brother and new friends towards the location that had been told to him by the guards.
As they neared the location they saw Lady Deawen and Lord Sen standing near a unlit bonnfire.
After finding a good watching place, they stood and watched as the Beltane began.

The Dunadan felt his heart jump as the drums and flutes played, he was entranced at what he was seeing and silently wished his wife was here with him.

*Sen danced around the fire as well, his feet keeping time with the music, but his eyes were ever fixed on his wife. He enjoyed the Beltane; though this separation in the beginning of the dance caused memories to well up in the back of his mind. Memories of when the separation was all to real. Yet he laughed, and smiled, as he danced around the bonfire, kicking up small puffs of dust with his fast and well placed steps. Then, at the climax of the music, he saw his chance. He leaped over the fire, flames licking at the soles of his shoes, and took his wife in his arms. Planting a small kiss on her forehead, he whispered as they danced together.*
I have you again, my love.
*The song continued for a while longer, and so did their dance together, weaving around the bonfire as others joined in.*

Deawen wasn't entirely prepared for Sen to leap over the bonfire at such short notice. It had been talked off but never pressed. Deawen laughed to ward off her shock.
" So you do.." Deawen whispered back.
(ok I am going to jump ahead to the feast to move things up a bit)
The feast was ellaborate and extensive. Deawen had spared no expense to the luxury of the meal.
Deawen sat next to her husband at the head table. She had changed from her dance dress to a beautiful golden dress that hugged her every curve. She drank water down wine to keep a level head and ate very little though the food was beyond comparison.
The hall was loud and well lit, and crowded.
A minstrel sang of Frodo and the RIng which quieted the hall some what.
Suddenly a the great gilded oaken doors swung open and a messenger from the King stroad through the door. He looked haggered and as if he had ridden a great distance.
He walked to the head table bowed and then addressed Lord Sen.
" My lord Sen there has been a disaster in the Eastfolde and the Folde. Eomer King has called a Mustering of the westfolde. You are to answer the summons in three days."
Deawen's face went pale and she turned to Sen to see his reaction.

Goldleaf watched a messenger from Eomer King walk into the celebrations and address the lord of the hall. She heard the words and was taken aback. King Elessar would have to be informed. Slowly, she walked over to the head table, making sure not to come too close, keeping a respectful distance between the messenger and Deawen and Sen.
She bowed. "My lord, my lady, at this time I believe I should inform you that I am the ambassador of King Elessar. I will at once send a message to him so that his aid might be at your disposal." Quickly, she backed away. This was no time for long speeches or explanations. His majesty would want to know, immediately. She walked quickly from the room. It was at times like these that she had to work speedily.
