Yeah. :teehee: It won't happen though. Well, at least for for a long time. I don't think a male kitten would get along with my mom's three old female cats.

I would so name my kids after LOTR. But it would be something different like Idril (always loved that name) or Luthien (love that story!). but that's only if I had girls. If I had boys I'd probably name them after the actors. So Orlando is the most likely option, or William if I wanted to be more sneaky about the LOTR link. :innocent:

I know one of my mum's freinds actually knows someone who named their daughter Eowyn....

Well if I ever have kids *coughyeahrightcough* then I would be more than happy to give them a middle name that was from LOTR.

Personally, I wouldn't give my kid a first name that was from LOTR. Mainly because I don't think I would like my passion for something to interfere with the naming of my child, a child that would be more important to me than my passion. As much as I love my name, the problems I've had with people trying to say it and pronounce it, has been embarrasing to say the least, and my name is just unusual and not LOTR related. Sometimes I wish I was called something simple. I wouldn't want my kids to be in an even worse position and be named after a book character or a place in a book, as if people know what the names are from, I'm pretty sure they would get teased.

Naming pets and something after LOTR is fine... but I'm not sure if I could bring myself to do that to a child. What if my child was called Galadriel? What is she didn't like the books or films? She's then stuck with a name from something she doesn't like until she's old enough to change her name. That doesn't sound fair really. We're all different. Just because you like something, doesn't mean the next generation will.

But middle names, yes! I think Arwen or Eowyn (as they are both Welsh sounding and so is my name and I ♥ Wales) and maybe for a boy Theoden. I really like that name.. it sounds.. posh. :teehee:

I'd like to name one of my kids Perigrin, which actually is a real name. And I love the name Eowyn.

For a more common LotR name (or more well-known), I would use it as a middle name. But a fairly simple/not too out-there elvish name would be cool for a first name.

I definitely would only choose a LotR name as a middle name for my child.
Firstly, I think that my child(ren) could be teased if they had a LotR name as a first name.
Secondly, it would sound sooo weird to me calling my child(ren) by a LotR name.. I couldn't imagine to say "Pippin! Go, tidy up your room" or something like that.
I like the idea of the middle name though. I think it's not too obvious and yet has something to do with LotR. But then I wouldn't choose a name like Gandalf or Saruman or so..
