Here as part of the Revival, we want to make the site as up-to date as possible. The main site has some tutorials from Arweb for her older graphics, but there are very few Photoshop ones and no GIMP ones. We'd like to add to our collection, especially since there have been changes in style and process over the years. So it's your turn to help! If you would like to write up tutorials for how you make graphics, we'd love to include it. Some ground rules: We want to keep things fairly organized and similar. Take a look at these links http://arwen-undomiel.com/misc/tutorial_banner.htmlhttp://arwen-undomiel.com/misc/advbanner.htmlhttp://arwen-undomiel.com/misc/effects.htmland write up things along similar lines. If you have a special thing you do (coloring, special blending, etc) you can write up something for that as well. Post your tutorial here and it will be uploaded to the site. Make sure you include all images that you use in the tutorial so we can keep them all together. Have questions? Ask.

I could write some for GIMP. Though I don't think I do anything rather extraordinary.
I could do one on blending and maybe some color ones when I get the time.

Ooooh awesome idea Nurr. I have photoshop and I'd love to help out, maybe with a colouring tutorial or a more advanced banner one I do have a ton of university work on at the mo so I cant do anything too soon :/ Can I make a suggestion? Could we somehow compile a list of "Top Tips for Beginners" or "Graphics Makers Do's and Don'ts" for the site- with really useful things like: Always use High Quality Pictures, Always Press Shift when you re-size images, save as png or HQ Jpeg etc etc.... I think it's something a lot of people forget when starting out and might be really helpful

@Erucininde: That would be nice! It doesn't have to be super elaborate, but even small things are helpful. As you can see, we've mostly just got PSP tutorials, so anything for other programs are good.
@Lembas: Love to have your expertise! And yeah, I think something like top tips would be great to have. If we can get people submitting ideas, I'll put something up for it.

Lembas: I love your idea I know that would have been helpful for me when I started. Nurr, As far as tutorials go I don't know what help I would be, as I still use PSP8! (just one step up from stone a chisel, but it works for me... ) I do use Paint Tool Sai for some painting style stuff (you can check my deviantart if you wanna see) but it's not really applicable to the banner-making stuff that goes on here.

I think I'd be up for writing one or two tuts for photoshop when I can find the time. I also have one for GIMP that I made especially for a friend some time ago but I'll see if I can find it and put it up sometime.

Sorry for the double post but this is the tutorial I mentioned above. It has nothing to do with LotR and the sort but maybe it's still usable? xD
