I wouldn't mind more pirate movies either. Just as long as they did them justice and didn't make them dumb like most movies that are continued like that.

Well... IMHO DMC is already worse than CotBP, and I have my worries for AWE... so if they're getting worse with each one, than by number 5...

I liked DMC just as much as the first one, and I'm excited about the third one.

NOTE: the following is all my opinion, not neccessarily fact. Feel free to argue with or correct me.

I liked DMC less because it was a lot darker, and they put a lot of stuff in that was just... gross. Like a lot of stuff on the cannibal island, the prison in the beginning... I just don't like gruesome/gross stuff. Also, it wasn't really funny. It had a few moments, true, but only a few. Most of it was mediocre slapstick. Also, it made me hate Jack's guts. In CotBP, Jack made me laugh (a lot), and even though I didn't like him all that much (due to the fact that he's a scoundrel and a pirate) I still could laugh at him. In DMC, he is... so outright EVIL that even in his rare amusing moments I can't laugh because I feel like boiling him alive or something.

Also, they gave Will a lot of lines that make him look stupid, which greatly annoys me. Will's not supposed to be the comic relief. Not to mention that the only one who is still trying to do what's right is Will. Everyone else is now evil. I don't like seeing a world that is purely currupted, through and through, except for one poor person.

Basically, the only reason I like it is because it's a PotC movie, and because it has Will in it. I am hoping and praying AWE is better.

.......no argument there, um...wow, I realy don't know wht to say, the only reason I now can find for DMC is that Davy is a better bad-guy than Barbossa(Althogh, Barbossa rocks!). ok, I think you have all but convinced me, Atariel.

Nah, I never flame, love. I simply enjoy an intelligent debate and am not afraid to discuss differing opinions.

I guess I'm also just an ardent supporter of Ted & Terry because they're really awesome guys, and I've loved everything they've written. They write stuff not because Hollywood tells them they should have it, or because it'll sell the most copies, but because they like it and want to see it happen. As a writer myself, I hold far more respect for someone who can look back at their work and say "Hey...we didn't do half bad on that one" than someone who makes it the biggest in the box office. And if they manage to do both together, more power to 'em. In my opinion, it's a much-needed reprieve from the modern standard for filmmaking.

And, as I've said, no one should fully judge DMC until they've seen AWE, because it's only the first half of the story. There's a lot more to be resolved, and a lot more will seem to fit when it's viewed in full context.

Basically, don't give up yet. The best is yet to come.

Yeah, I mean I liked DMC and TcotBP but I think AWE will hopefully be the best!!! Especially now that Barbossa is back, right PotR?????

I haven't opened any of my presents, but I don't think I got anything PotC That's okay, though, I have my Will Turner pen and notebook and that's all I need.
