^ I'm guilty of judging movies... but the reason I choose not to see them (and/or degrade them) is not because of one or two little nitpicky things... it's that the whole movie looks stupid, etc.

Right. But, JF and Saira aren't judging the movie on a whole. Just the one or two things... Is that okay, then?

^And that's perfectly fine, Saira. We can all have our opinions... :)

PD: You don't want to know how horrible those vids were... :hide: Lets just say that I'm very glad they're over. :) Dad actually talked to the teacher and asked him to let me know before any more vids like that were shown so I could have teh option to leave...I love my dad... :-D

Saira, in a couple of your posts back, you asked if it was better if you watched it and hated it...yes it is. :teehee: At least you gave it a chance... :-D

Pooh, don’t worry about it at all, Eäryendë. ;) I agree COMPLETELY with you. On everything! that’s as far as I’ll go into it, but I just want to say that you shouldn’t feel too bad about what you said or anything… ;)

TT, what is that suppose to mean? :yeahright:
No, I know, JF was just judging the Suspian part… which she can judge since I think we all did before we watched the movie, but I was talking about the other parts like ages and such… ;) yes, I know, I know… I sorta figured you did, but critics came to my mind when I thought of reviews. ;) and you know my feelings about critics and their reviews. :P Yeah, treading on thin ice there, treading on thin ice… :orly: it’s not really that they’re stuck up, it’s other things. And just their basic stupidity when it comes to the movies they “think” they know. :eyeroll: but whatever, they are what they are and I don’t want to listen to all their junk or their award shows where they nominate who they think should win (yeah right... major prejudices there :eyeroll:) and they pat each other on the back and all that. :P if you do, you can and that's ok. ;) but I just don't agree with them half the time and I'd rather listen to what my friends say about a movie and what I think than listen to what Joe Blow thinks I should or shouldn't like about a movie. :eyeroll: Really? Distubia was awesome! And What Happens in Vegas looks funny! :teehee: but anyway, I know what you mean there… we all do have our opinions about some things, but still… as Earyen said a lot of the time that’s because the whole movie looks dumb or not my style or whatever and that's why I judge a movie. ;)

anyway, rant ended... sorry to anyone who disagrees... I was just voicing my opinion... blame it on TT! *points finger* she started it and she knows that teh PD can't help but get all wordy and ranty at times like these! :P

Padawan, wow, and I don’t think I want to know! that’s a good thing that your dad talked to your teacher! I can’t believe they’d actually show things that graphic!

^I know! It's like they're out to make sure you never get behind the wheel.... :erm:

Hehe, did TT actually start this little rant of yours? You and your rants... *big grin* :-D

PD, nothing.
Okay, okay... I understand. ;) lol, part of me thinks you were just waiting for the opportunity to talk about critics. ;) "their basic stupidity"? :orly: Um, I really don't see that. They think they understand movies? :yeahright: What movies are we specifically talking about, PD? :P And what do you mean by that? Well, let's put out the possibility that my movie taste are more in conformity to Joe Blow's then to my friends. Frankly, I don't agree with my friends on anything regarding movies. I've got friends who like HSM more then LotR, and others with really weird tastes. You would never hear a critic saying that. And, I mean, critics also give REASONS for their likes are dislikes. I've never heard a critics say "I liked that movei because the main actor was SO hot", which is about the level or reviews I get from my friends, but anyways. (sorr for the rant about friends ;)) I thought you would say something about Disturbia, but What Happens in Vegas? PD! Anyway, no.... No, no, no... those movies are not for TT. And, although I don' think What Happens in Vegas is, Disturbia sounds like a cool movie, but simply not for me. (And, just so you know, I've never read a critics reiview about either of them ;)) Okay... so we've agreed that movies CAN be judged before seeing then? :P That's all I wanted. ;)

Hey! TT was not the cause of your rant! If anything, you were the cause of TT's rant!

I think I have a chronic habit of booing at that kiss. I went to see PC again with my mom and my friend who hadn't seen it yet and I stood up in the theater (I was in the back row) and booed right when it happened. :D Then I got some dirty looks from the other audience members. Then again, I was also the only one who clapped at the end...

Edit: Oh dang, a December DVD. I was pretty sure of that, seeing as it took that long for Pirates 3, but oh well. *pouts anyway*

^ Wait, is a December release back on? I thought an October release was being considered.

 at booing in the theatre!

Oh. Er, I was just skimming all the pages I missed and happened to read about the December release. You could be right about October, I have no idea.

Yeah, it was fun! Except my friend was like "[ANIE!] WHAT are you DOING?!?" :teehee:

Padawan, maybe they are. I know I don't want to drive anyway... I make their job easy. ;)

yes, TT ish evil... she always makes the worst side of me show (I kid, TT, I kid. ;)) my rants are good! They help me get it all out... and sometimes you just need to, you know? ;)

TT, ok.
well, maybe I was just a little bit. ;) you know how I feel about them... and I can't get out my feelings enough sometimes. lol well, really, I was thinking about it and it kind of depends on the critics you're listening to, TT. ;) some critics review movies and are just fine. The ones I dislike are the big, Hollywood ones that are basically just giving me their opinion and expecting me to take it as fact. :eyeroll: the ones who pat each other on the back and make all the choices and just think their thoughts are the greatest in the world. and yes, I was talking about PotC there. ;) because they see what's on the outside. It's a action/adventure "popcorn" (Anie knows how much I hate that word) flick. They don't want to look deeper into the movie and the characters so they don't. They review on what's on the outside. And they also base a lot of their reviews on the fact if it's a "popcorn" flick or if it's an actual "deep" movie. :eyeroll: Well, I can't blame you there... I have to say for the most part I would agree with the critics more than with your friends too if that was the case. but some critics don't give reasons for why they like movies they like. Or else their reasons are prejudiced for different agendas they want to push. What? I think What Happens in Vegas looks so funny! Ah I see. :teehee: yes, I suppose we have. Just not judged harshly or for finicky little things. ;)

hey, don't try to pass the blame on to me! It was so you!

Anie, really? lol you boo at that kiss scene? I don't think I would have enough guts. :P awww, you were the only one who clapped? When me and my friend went we clapped at the end... no one else did. :eyeroll: people just don't like to participate in the fun. :P

and I think the DVD is still coming out in October... so they say.

[Padawan, the movies they make you watch in Driver's Ed are horrible. I don't think mine were as bad as the ones you're describing, but I remember very studiously looking at my workbook throughout. I think the common tactic is to start out by scaring us so badly that we won't attempt speeding or driving without a seatbelt or anything. I suppose a lot of kids are reckless, but for me and probably a few others here and there who were scared of driving as it is and were only there because of their parents, it was an unnecessary torment.]

Okay, rabbit trail over. :P

Hmm...I've read back over what you've been debating about...I'm rather proud of you for not getting in a fight. :P Mature people are so exciting.
I think it's probably not fair to call a movie horrible without seeing it. I do, however, think that it's perfectly reasonable to THINK the movie LOOKS horrible and choose not to see it. I've certainly done that about a million times.

Anie, you boo at the kiss? I could never do that. I don't like people in the theater staring at me. It's happened before. :P

PD, HEY! You watch what you're saying! :karate: I think you mixed us up again, because, you're the evil one. Not I!
Meh... don't give me that look! ;) I just meant, you know, since our original PotC argument, we've agreed on pretty much everything. So, I said I forgot how a PD argument went. That's all there is to it. :teehee:
That's okay... I know how you feel. ;) We are the ranting buddies afterall. :teehee: Well, I don't know what you mean. I just go onto Yahoo or RottenTomatoes and read all the critics' reviews posted there. And sometimes I'll check Entertainment Weekly... Which I love, btw. :D But I will NOT read the reviews in the paper my dad gets. Though, I have a feeling you'd like them. :teehee: Yes, I know what you mean about that. They can get to confident in their opinions. But, that doesn't mean their opinions are necessarily wrong. ;) lol, I knew it! *reads over your PotC rant with a grin* I hope you don't expect me to comment on that. We've discussed it already. ;) Ahhh... I'm glad you'd agree with me! My friends can be so retarded. :eyeroll: Different agendas they want to push? :yeahright: Sounds like a conspiracy to me... :teehee: Anyway, I don't really know anything about that. I just know I agree largly with what the critics I read have to say. *shudders* Meh... if you go see What Happens in Vegas, that's up to you. :P I shall not. Good, good... we've come to a conclusion then. :)

*reads over what Nie and dies laughing* Mature people? Well... I think PD and I learned our lesson about arguing with each other a while back. ;) At least I have... :teehee: Yesh, you're probably right. :)
